Julington Creek Plantation (JCP) is a large planned community located in the northwest area of St. Johns County, Florida. JCP consists of 47 separate neighborhoods with over 5,800 living units situated on about 4,200 acres of beautiful Florida land, and over 100 ponds. Some of our communities are gated, with the vast majority of our homes being single-family, and a small number of condominium and townhome communities.
JCP is known for its mature trees with approximately 1,200 acres of undisturbed natural areas situated throughout the community. We are very protective of our trees, with strict rules about what can be removed.
As a planned community, enforcement of architectural standards of the residential units, and oversight of community infrastructure such as landscaped areas and ponds, is performed by a homeowners association – the Julington Creek Plantation Property Owners’ Association, Inc. (POA). A seven-member Board of Directors, elected by JCP property owners, governs the POA.
Our recreational facilities are second-to-none and include two large aquatic centers, both with lap pools and recreation pools; an exercise facility with state of the art equipment; tennis, basketball and volleyball courts; skateboard park; children playgrounds; open-air gathering facilities and adjacent grounds that host numerous community events. The community recreational facilities are owned and managed by the Julington Creek Plantation Community Development District (CDD), a Florida special-purpose form of government. For water activities, the Atlantic Ocean is only about 15 miles away. The beautiful St. Johns River is within about two miles, and a nearby canoe and kayak launch point allows direct access to the St. Johns. We enjoy great facilities within JCP, but are blessed with great nearby county parks with soccer and baseball fields, and “Old Florida” natural and historical areas.
JCP sits between downtown Jacksonville (about 25 miles to the north) and historic Saint Augustine (about 20 miles to the south), with easy accessibility via Interstate 95.
